Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath inspected the encroachment eviction site and ordered to clear the eviction.
In Yelahanka Zone Kempegowda Ward, encroachment clearance work was carried out on the footpath from Farmers Santhe to Jakkuru Main Road. Under the leadership of Zonal Joint Commissioner Poornima, a footpath encroachment clearance drive was conducted and the shop fronts, useless pushcarts, and fruit boxes placed on the footpaths were cleared and the smooth movement of the pedestrians was made possible.
Further, banners, buntings and sheets left in front of shops were cleared from footpaths. Besides, the branches of the plants/trees on the footpath have been cut and allowed for smooth movement of the pedestrians. During the encroachment clearance operation, cleaning work was done using JCB and gang men and waste was cleared in the tractor and compactor.
Those doing business encroaching on the footpath should be warned not to encroach on the footpaths any more, he said. Similarly, Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath instructed the officials to immediately repair damaged slabs and curb stones in all the wards including encroached footpaths.
On this occasion, Superintendent Engineers, Executive Engineers, Police Staff, Civil Vehicles, staff, Marshals, and pourakarmikas participated.
