Haveri: After submitting his nomination, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, the BJP candidate from Shiggaon, and his election apparatus may have been waiting with baited breath when National President J. P. Nadda began to speak at the public rally of the party in Haveri city.
“I appeal to you to vote for the BJP so that Karnataka is not devoid of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s blessings. I ask you to make the lotus win and keep the development going forward,” said BJP National Chief J. P. Nadda said during his speech in Haveri following the nomination of CM Bommai. Nadda’s body language was also very out of character for him and his party, which is running on a liberal platform.
The political pundits have taken exception to this tone of Nadda and have stated BJP appears to still have only a trump card in Modi which is not a good thing to happen to a National party. It shows a kind of hollowness.
Very disturbing statement made by BJP President Nadda, threatening people of Karnataka that they will be devoid of Modi’s blessings if they don’t vote for BJP! What is he intending to say? That the constitutionally guaranteed rights of people of Karnataka will be not be given if BJP loses the state? Are we living in a federal country governed by the Constitution or in a monarchy ruled by a Raja? says Srivatsa on the twitter handle

He continues, “Yesterday, when former CM Siddaramaiah raised the issue of tribal people stuck in Sudan, EAM Jaishankar responded in the most arrogant way! This shows how the BJP is planning to treat Kannadigas just because they are being voted out. Nadda is basically saying citizens of Karnataka will be treated as second class with their Constitutional rights at the mercy of the Central Government if the 40% double engine commission BJP loses. Nadda MUST apologise to Kannadigas and take back his anti-federal statement. BJP which is facing 40+ rebels which will reduce them to just 40 seats is scared and has now resorted to scaring people to vote for them. People of Karnataka will teach BJP a befitting lesson and #End40PercentSarkara.
