Bengaluru: Karnataka Assembly election would play a vital role as far as upcoming Lok Sabha election in 2024 is concerned. While, state is a strong belt for BJP, the Congress has to win in Karnataka as it is own if the largest state that can help secure its existence.
First, the BJP will be entering unchartered waters on its ascendence in Karnataka because Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa will not be its Chief Ministerial candidate. Second, Siddaramaiah, the 75-year-old Former Chief Minister from the Congress and its biggest leader in Karnataka, has already proclaimed that this will be his last election, and will be looking to lead the Congress to victory before his eventual retirement. Third, the Janata Dal (Secular) will be fighting to stay relevant as its leader and Former Chief Minister, H. D. Kumaraswamy, has averred that the party will not ally with the Congress or BJP.
Karnataka’s election will also influence the polls to be held in Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. These elections are being referred to as the extended semi-finals before the crucial parliamentary election of 2024.
If the BJP wins in Karnataka election, it will be added in its Loksabha propaganda. And it may be said that it is the blessings of the people for their successful ruling in the State. If the Congress wins it is reallyba boost up for the party for future elections too.
At the end of the day the JD (S) will be the kingmaker and help in formation of the Government in Karnataka. If both BJP and Congress do not get majority, they have to depend on the support of JD (S ) to form a coaiation Government. However, for all this we have to wait until May 13.
