Bengaluru: The recently inaugurated Terminal 2 of the Bengaluru Airport, worth Rs. 5,000 Crore and opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November last year, has been found to be leaking during rains. A video of rainwater accumulation at the arrival point of Terminal 2 has gone viral on social media, drawing severe criticism from netizens.
The netizens sarcastically commented that the real value of the terminal seems to be Rs. 5,000 since it is unable to withstand even a 30-minute spell of rain. Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), the airport operator, has confirmed the leak at the kerbside of the new terminal and has vowed to maintain the highest standards of infrastructure and safety at both terminals.

A BIAL spokesperson said, “During the May 2 evening, there was a leak at the kerbside of Terminal 2 of Bangalore Airport due to rain. We acknowledge that we are facing problems in a large and new infrastructure like T2. Our teams have been instructed to address all the issues.
