Bengaluru: The poll battle in Kanakapura constituency is more intriguing, if the election of the whole Karnataka is one side, on the other side a high voltage fight will be witnessed in Kanakapura. Will the BJP brahmastra workout against ‘Bande’ (Rock) in Kanakapura constituency, which is the lime light in state politics?
This time, BJP has made a big plan against KPCC President D. K. Shivakumar, who has had 7 consecutive victories in Kanakapura constituency. For this reason, Minister R. Ashok has been brought into the fray and a new game has started. So will R. Ashok explode like dynamite against ‘Bande’ or will he become a firecracker in the wake of the DK brothers? The curiosity is doubled. With 3 days left for the election, there is a lot of excitement in the constituency.
Kanakapura means politically either JD (S) or Congress will win, as the people here think. For the past 20 years, BJP has experimented in Kanakapura, a Congress stronghold. Thus, BJP leaders from Delhi have prepared a plan to win the Kanakapura Fort and they have given B. L. Santhosh a task to win Kanakapura. But in the past, the BJP’s contest here was limited just for namesake. They never retained the deposit, will the trend change this year has to be witnessed.
In order to calculate which community will play a decisive role in Kanakapura Constituency, the only answer is Vokkaliga voters. There are 1,09,876 male voters and 1,10,500 female voters in Kanakapura constituency with a total of 2,20,391 voters, and 99,567 votes for each caste. There are 44,000 votes of Dalit community, 22,500 votes of Muslims and 18,500 votes of Lingayats. Other than that there are 5,600 Kurubas, 10,500 Thigala, 2,507 Christians, 6000 Bestas and 9400 other community voters.
Looking at this calculation, it is not possible to decide the candidate who will win in Kanakapura Constituency without the votes of all parties. Since there are about 1 lakh Vokkaliga votes, out of the 2,20,000 votes, Vokkaliga votes are the game decider. But Congress and BJP have started a new game by fielding a Vokkaliga candidate. On the other hand, DK brothers are standing like a rock against the BJP leaders. Thus the battle of Kanakapura turned into a interesting field.
The BJP has vowed to defeat D. K. Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah, Savadi and Jagadish Shettar. Therefore, the leaders of BJP have formed an organisation in Kanakapura along with the rest of the region. On the other hand, R. Ashok’s focus is on Kanakapura constituency rather than Padmanabha Nagar, despite contesting for two constituencies. In Kanakapura Constituency, they are campaigning by going door to door as an alert.
Regardless of the total win/loss calculation, the decision will be based on the fact that voters are going to take a stand. Voting for the Assembly elections will be held on May 10 and the results will be announced on May 13. And it will be decided who will win in Kanakapura constituency.
