Bhatkal: Candidates of Congress, JD (S) and Aam Aadmi Party have filed applications for the support of Tanjeem in Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency in the state Assembly elections to be held on May 10. Imran Lanka, coordinator of Tanzeem’s political cell clarified that “our Tanzeem does not support the communal party among these three.”
Speaking at the press conference, he said that he has not yet taken a decision on who will be supported by Tanjeem in the constituency. We are confused about the decision to support a candidate who is leading in the election arena. He said that we are going to discuss and consult about this and make it clear to the community who is Tanjeem’s support before the election. We are going to give our support to the party and candidates who do not spread slander, maintain peace and order and do not engage in communalism in Bhatkal, he noted.
It is the duty of the citizens to adequately exercise the constitutional right to vote. In this regard, a large number of citizens should go to polling stations and vote. This time, while voting in the elections, the citizens should vote keeping in mind the issues and events that happened during the last 5 years, he said.
He added that the price rise, future of children, job creation, peace and order and harmony should be kept in mind.
