Bengaluru: Immediately after the announcement of the Karnataka Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has organised campaign meetings across Karnataka to unite people and workers and try to explain what his party has done for the people and what it will do next.
What has happened since Prime Minister Modi, who created a huge wave for the BJP in Karnataka, according to survey reports is that the popularity of Modi has not come down but increased a lot since last five years. In the state BJP leaders are seen seeking votes in the name of Modi.
PM Modi spent three nights in Karnataka from April 24 to May 7 after the election announcement. 16 public meetings and 6 roadshows were held in the last two weeks which changed the current state of Karnataka elections. In the last 2 weeks, the Prime Minister’s high-voltage election campaign in Karnataka has created a pro-BJP wave, as evidenced by the lakhs of people who turned up during the election rallies, who not only came to see the Prime Minister, but who also have immense admiration towards the leader.
Modi managed to attract huge crowds at rallies and roadshows, which shows his popularity in the state. In all the three roadshows held in Bengaluru and Mysuru, crowds thronged the streets and voters’ bond with the Prime Minister was palpable. When Verito.today spoke with the women standing on the streets of Bengaluru and Myuru, during roadshows they said that they are fortunate to live in a time when Prime Minister like Modi is ruling the country. “Modi is God to us and we consider him as Shiva.” People’s craze for Prime Minister Modi is evident on the streets of Karnataka.
Prime Minister Modi’s announcement of a double engine Government succeeded in creating positive appeal and a positive atmosphere. This has started ringing in the ears of voters. May 7, in the last leg of the election campaign, it was for everyone to see that there is a wave of support for the Prime Minister among the voters of the state. If we look at all the election programmes of the Prime Minister, it is seen that under one strategy, an attempt has been made to reach out to all regions and all classes of the state. Modi has especially focused on other people including women, youth, senior citizens, ans farmers.
Addressing a large women’s convention in Badami, Karnataka, the Prime Minister highlighted women in particular and mentioned the implementation of schemes under the double engine Government and the transformative impact it has had on people’s lives.
Addressing fishermen in Moodabidri, Prime Minister Modi talked about the Government’s efforts to improve their lives and emphasised the work done by the Government for them.
Similarly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the state’s Banjara community in Kudachi and Kalaburagi and directly discussed the issue of reserve police station for them and the recognition of Banjaras.
According to an estimate, around 10 lakh people participated in the two-day Bengaluru roadshow. Metro city roads like Bengaluru have never seen so much crowd. This is an unprecedented display of love and affection for Modi. Prime Minister has done 4 programmes each in Kalyan Karnataka and Old Mysuru regions. Traditionally, both these constituencies where Congress has always done better than BJP.
But now after the meeting of other Central Leaders including Prime Minister and Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP is expected to win more seats in both these regions. However, to have a clear picture everyone has to wait for the results that will be out on May 13 of the polls that is going to take place on May 10.
