Ballari: Amid reports claiming that a woman delivered in a polling booth near Ballari on the day of Karnataka Assembly election – May 10 – the District Health Officer has clarified that no such incident has happened!
Ballari District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr H. L. Janardhan said, “contrary to reports that a woman voter at Kurugodu taluk had a delivery at the polling booth, the woman in fact delivered at a primary health centre in the Village around 10.00 am.”
The woman has been identified as M. Manila. Woman after casting her voted around 9.00 am, developed labour pain. Immediately, she was rushed to a primary health centre. From there, she was shifted to Korlagundi Primary Health Centre and she delivered a baby boy at 10.15 am.
