Chitradurga: While on election campaign KPCC President D. K. Shivakumar had promised to provide free electricity up to 200 units if Congress comes to power.
According to the guarantee card given by the party, it was assured that people do not have to pay the electricity bill from June 1 and that 200 units of electricity would be made available free.
Now, as Congress has won the election with a complete majority, a video of the residents of Siddapura Village in Chitradurga has gone viral on social media. The villagers are seen shouting at the metre reader saying that we will not pay the bill as electricity is set to be free.
In the video, they are heard saying, “Congress has come to power now, and we will not pay electricity as per their guarantee.” It can be recalled here that Shivakumar had told people in a campaign meeting not to pay electricity bill from coming June 1.

Another social media user says that the Karnataka voters have become really smart, while the other says, “Hope the Congress fulfills their promises.”
With video going viral, Congressmen’s headache too seem to have got worse.
