Ahead of the 16th Karnataka Assembly’s commencement, members of the Congress party orchestrated a peculiar act seemingly aimed at mocking the BJP Government for their defeat in the Assembly elections.
The incident unfolded as Congress workers engaged in what they described as a “ritual,” involving the sprinkling of cow urine (Gau Mutra) outside the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. Additionally, party members partook in a “religious ceremony” and offered pooja near the statue of Dr. Ambedkar situated within the premises.
In the morning of May 22, a group of Congress workers, accompanied by a priest, gathered at the location. They proceeded to slowly draw cow urine from small plastic bottles onto their hands before methodically sprinkling it along a pathway leading to the Vidhana Soudha.
The rationale behind this act, as explained by the workers, was to symbolically “purify” the Vidhana Soudha following the BJP’s departure from power and the rise of the Siddaramaiah-led Government.
