Kalaburagi: In order to deliver effective government projects, the new government of the state has issued a notification canceling the Management Board of Kalyana Karnataka Human Resources, Agriculture and Cultural Association, which was brought into existence under the Chairmanship of Former Rajya Sabha Member Dr. Basavaraj Patil Sedam.
Similarly, the nomination of Chairman and Members nominated to Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) has also been cancelled. The Director of Planning Programme, Composition and Statistics Department and Ex-officio Deputy Secretary to Government D. Chandrasekharaiah have issued a notification canceling these two governing bodies.
Kalyana Karnataka Human Resources Agriculture and Cultural Association (KKHRACA) has been brought into existence in order to create a new direction and new idea as well as a self-reliant life. But the fact that the association received no direct funding from the Government and the grant received by KKRDB was the cause of widespread dissatisfaction and opposition. Dr. Basavaraja Patil Sedam, who was the Former MP and President of the Association, wrote a letter to the then Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai three months ago and asked him to appoint a new board to continue the association. But the Chief Minister had not taken any decision.
The new Congress Government in the state has abolished the governing body of the Kalyana Karnataka Human Resource Agriculture and Cultural Association. We have to wait and see whether the Government would abolish KKHRACA in the coming days or would continue.
It is necessary for the Government which has cancelled the management board of KKRDB to nominate a new Chairman and members as soon as possible because after the release of five thousand crores grant to the board, if the management board is formed, it will be helpful to formulate an action plan and get the permission of the government. Earlier, the Minister was supposed to be the Chairman of this board, but the previous BJP Government had amended the rules of the board so that MLAs could also be the Chairman. But it remains to be seen whether the new Congress Government will continue this rule or amend it. Overall, as both the above management boards have been cancelled so quickly, if a new board is also appointed, it will complement the development.
