Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath visited and inspected the areas affected by the rains that have been pouring for the last three to four days under the jurisdiction of the Corporation.
First, the Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath inspected the clearing operation of trees and tree branches that had fallen due to rain in the area of Rajajinagara Legislative Assembly Constituency of West Zone by forming a team and using cranes by the Forest Department of the Corporation. He directed the Forest Department officials to clear the branches of the tree as soon as possible.
Till now, in total 255 trees and about 1050 twigs and branches have fallen due to wind and rain for the last 5 days, they have already been cleared and the remaining small amount of branches will be cleared very soon.
Later, Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath visited Arekere and RBI Layout of Bommanahalli Assembly constituency and instructed to appoint private personnel to clear the tree branches lying on the road as soon as possible so that there is no obstruction to the vehicular traffic and there is no danger to life.
Later, he checked that a huge drain overflowed due to rain near Anugrah apartment in Ward 188 of Bommanahalli Assembly constituency and water flowed in the surrounding areas. He immediately instructed to clear the debris lying in the area due to the overflowing of the huge canal and instructed the developers to take action to prevent the water from overflowing from the said canal.
Bommanahalli Zone Commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar K., Chief Engineer (Major Aqueduct) Basavaraj Kabade, Chief Engineer (Bommanahalli Zone) Sasikumar and other officials were present.
