Bengaluru: Our priority is to make Bengaluru, the capital of the state, zero rowdy city, said the new Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG and IGP) Alok Mohan and added that Bengaluru will be made a drug-free city later.
Speaking to the mediapersons about this, he said, “Today I had a meeting with the Bengaluru Police. Zero rowdyism is our priority. Then we will make Bengaluru a drug free city. Good behaviour from the police should be mandatory. Becoming a people-friendly police is very important, he said. He also said that any illegal activities in the city will not be tolerated.
Attention will also be paid to the physical fitness of the police across the state. Actions will be taken to make them physically fit. All the senior officials have been instructed to review the cases from time to time. Police negligence will not be tolerated for any reason. No one will be allowed to cause problems in Bengaluru, he said. In addition, he informed that a lot of discussion has been done about the traffic system.
Maintaining law and order in the state is our first priority. Measures will be taken to curb cybercrime, safety of women and children. All complaints given at the police station should be received. Some more technical training will be given to the police. Traffic management is also important in urban areas to ensure that there is no traffic congestion anywhere. Attention will be paid to this, said the new DG-IGP Alok Mohan (Karnataka State New Director General of Police) (DG) and Inspector General of Police (IGP).
36 years of service in Karnataka:
Alok Mohan hails from Bihar and is a 1987 batch Karnataka cadre IPS officer. He has been serving in the Police Department for 36 years in the state. Having worked as DGP of Fire Brigade, Emergency Services, he has experience of rendering considerable service in many departments including DGP Jails, Joint Commissioner Bengaluru City Crime Branch, ADGP ACB. The new DG-IGP Alok Mohan will retire in April 2025.
