Mysuru: The supporters of MLA Tanveer Sait and Chamarajanagara MLA Puttarangashetty held separate protests on May 27 demanding ministerial berth for their leaders. A supporter of Chamarajanagara MLA Puttarangashetty wrote letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah that he will resort to suicide in front of the Congress office if he is not given a ministerial position.
Chandrasekhar of Nallur Mole has written this letter, that Shetty is only MLA of our Uppara society, C. Puttarangashetty has won four times.
Chamarajanagar MLA C. Puttarangshetty’s supporters have staged a massive protest in Chamarajanagara, including the Uppara community people, demanding that he should be given a ministerial seat. The fans who started a procession from Chamarajeshwara Temple in Chamarajanagara formed a human chain and blocked the road at Bhubaneswari Circle and vented their anger against the move of the Congress. It is not right not to give the post of Deputy Speaker, but to be given the post of minister. The fans demanded that Puttarangashetty, who has won for the fourth time after defeating the powerful leaders, should be given a ministerial position, and the traffic on the national highway was disrupted due to the protest.
C. Puttarangashetty is a staunch supporter of Siddaramaiah, and when H. D. Kumaraswamy was the Chief Minister, he drew attention by saying, “Siddaramaiah is still the CM for me.” Also, he had invited Siddaramaiah to contest in Chamarajanagara during the search of constituency. Not being given a ministerial position to Puttarangashetty, who is known as a member of Siddu’s close circle, has led to the outrage of his supporters and admirers.
In Mysuru Narasimha Raja Block Congress workers staged a protest near Gandhi Circle demanding to give ministerial position to Tanveer Sait. N. R..Constituency Congress in-charge and President of Tanveer Sait fan group M. Rasool said that the Muslim community, which has played a crucial role in the Congress Government coming to power in the state with a majority, is being ignored in the Cabinet. Tanveer Sait , who has won 6 times in a row, demanded to be given a ministerial seat in the Cabinet.
Tanveer Sait, a honest, unblemished politician, pioneer of development, should be given a ministerial berth in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s Government. Tanveer Sait registered his first victory by winning the 2002 by-election from Mysuru Narasimharaja Constituency, which was vacated after the death of Former Minister Aziz Seth. After that, he has made history by consistently winning the N. R. constituency till today. He has worked excellently as Minister of Minority Welfare Department, Waqf Department, Education Department, Labour Department and as Minister In-Charge of Mysuru, Kodagu and Raichur Districts. Considering his political seniority, he demanded that he should be given a ministerial position in the cabinet.
Tanveer Sait is a senior Muslim leader of the state. He is also the president of various educational institutions. In the recently held Assembly elections, Tanveer Sait has succeeded in getting 100 percent Muslim votes for the Congress party in the state and especially in Mandya and Mysuru Districts. It is necessary to give a seat in the Cabinet to such a stalwart of the Congress party. AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the state should once again consult and give Ministership to Tanveer Seth. If not, he warned the party leaders that there is a possibility of an adverse effect in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
It is our insistence that Tanveer Sait should be given ministerial position without harbouring any kind of grudge against Tanveer Sait as Siddaramaiah and Tanveer Sait are two eyes of the Muslim community of Mysuru.
