Bengaluru: In an unexpected turn of events, N. S. Boseraju, a non-member of the Legislative Assembly and Parishad, has emerged as a fortunate contender for the ministerial position. Despite facing tough competition from candidates with impressive records, extensive ministerial experience, and victories over prominent leaders, Boseraju’s luck has shone through.
Boseraju owes his success to the blessings of AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, the concurrence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and the support of esteemed elders, which facilitated his smooth ascension to the ministerial post. However, this decision has left many disgruntled, especially as Senior Leader B. K. Hariprasad, a member of the upper house, was overlooked in favour of Bosearaju.
Known as a frontline leader in Raichur, Boseraju has established himself as a formidable figure in the Kalyana Karnataka region. His journey began during the tenure of Former CM S. M. Krishna, where he shouldered various responsibilities within the party. Serving as an MLC for a term, Bosearaju also held positions such as the Chief Minister’s Political Secretary and President of the Hyderabad Karnataka Development Board. Additionally, he currently serves as the Secretary of AICC and holds the position of Telangana State In-Charge.
Allow me to introduce Boseraju, the newly appointed Minister:
N. S. Boseraju, hailing from Raichur, is an AICC Secretary and serves as the Telangana Congress In-charge. He previously held the position of MLC and belongs to the Kshatriya caste. Boseraju holds a Diploma in Automobile Engineering. Notably, he was elected as the MLA from the Manvi Constituency in Raichur in both 1999 and 2004.
With a political career spanning 48 years, Boseraju has achieved significant milestones:
– 1972-76: Made his political debut with Yuva Congress.
– 1976-80: Served as Taluka Congress President.
– 1980-1991: Held the position of District Congress Secretary.
– 1991-2002: Acted as the President of Undivided Koppal Raichur District Congress.
– 2009-2017: Served as the KPCC General Secretary (Administration).
– 2017-18: Held the post of KPCC Vice President.
– AICC Secretary since 2018.
Notably, Boseraju was elected as an MLA from the Manvi Constituency in Raichur District in 1999 and 2004. In 2014, he was elected as an MLC. He has also gained valuable experience serving as the Chairman of the Tungabhadra Kada, HC Development Board Chairman, and Political Secretary to the CM.
Boseraju’s remarkable journey and extensive contributions to the political landscape have brought him to this significant role as a Minister, but at the cost of party loyalists and senior legislators like B. K. Hariprasad. It is stated that the Gandhi family had recommended his name for the ministerial berth in recognition of his service to the party.
