Bengaluru: Congress MLA from Soraba Constituency Madhu Bangarappa is now a minister ans is the third member of the Bangarappa family to get the ministerial post. By doing so, he has equaled the record of JD (S)’ Deve Gowda family, where three members of the same family became ministers. Madhu left JD (S) and joined Congress in November 2021. His father S. Bangarappa entered electoral politics in 1967, later became a minister and became the Chief Minister of the state in 1990.
Bangarappa’s eldest son, Madhu Bangarappa’s elder brother Kumar Bangarappa, was a minister in 1999 in the S. M. Krishna-led Congress Government. Now Madhu Bangarappa is the Minister. In the Devegowda family, Devegowda has served as Minister, Chief Minister of the state, and Prime Ministers of the country. His son H. D. Kumaraswamy has worked as Chief Minister and H. D. Revanna as Minister.
Madhu Bangarappa, newly appointed Minister, has got the post of Primary Education Minister. Kimmane Ratnakar held this portfolio in the District for the first time and now Madhu Bangarappa has the same portfolio. It is not an easy matter to handle this portfolio involving very delicate matters. Text revision, exam planning is also a big responsibility.
It must be noted that when Kimmane became a minister, he faced a situation of resignation due to a question paper leak. Text revision was a major source of confusion in the previous Government. It is curious how Madhu Bangarappa, who was involved in getting facilities such as irrigation and fight for justice, will handle this portfolio.
The people of the taluk have supported and blessed me in all my political achievements, said New Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa and addee that my family and I will be eternally grateful for their response and cooperation.
Every MLA has a desire to become a minister. Congress is a big ship. It is difficult to give ministership to everyone. The High Command weighed and selected the ministers, he says. He is also one of them, he adds and feels that the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister have trusted him and given him the title of Minister after he performed the duties given to him in the past very honestly. He said that he is committed to perform any ministerial position given to him.
The people of the taluk have trusted him and elected him to the assembly. As a minister, he has to respond to every problem in the constituency. Especially forest land cultivation and bagarhukum farmers need to find a permanent solution. Along with this, the environment also needs to be saved. He said that his aim is to protect the farmers and he has discussed this with Siddaramaiah and D. K. Shivakumar.
