Bengaluru: The new Bangalore City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda took charge on May 31. Outgoing Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy handed over the baton.
Speaking at the press conference, Dayananda said, Bengaluru is a cosmopolitan city. I am grateful to the Government for allowing me to work as the Police Commissioner of the city. People have faith in the Police Department. I will work towards maintaining that belief. I was born and raised in Bengaluru, he said. He said that I am proud to say that I belong to Bengaluru.
“There are also many challenges. I will handle them successfully. Bengaluru needs technology. Police system should be direct, close,” he noted.
He said that the traffic management of the city requires the cooperation of different departments.
We will try to control the traffic along with the concerned departments. No decision on towing again, he said.
He said that its pros and cons will be reviewed and brought to the attention of the Government.
Cybercrime Police lack training. Too many cases are registered and there is overload, he said.
He also informed that instructions will be given to register minor cases in local stations.
