Bengaluru: Minister for Large and Medium Industries M. B. Patil said on June 1 that his preference would be to resolve pending land acquisition cases in KIADB and instructed the concerned officials to provide details of such cases within a week.
He was speaking in a detailed review meeting with officials of authorities, boards and corporations which function under his ministry. Minister M. B. Patil asked officials to submit a report regarding the allotment of industrial plots in the last 5 years and their current status. Saying that the Government’s focus would be on the growth of industries he asked officials to work accordingly.
Minister said that there are reports alleging that officials of the legal cell of KIADB not representing the cases with commitment and warned that the Government would not tolerate such an attitude.
Minister Patil said that the Government was considering setting up an additional convention centre of 10,000 sq. ft. for the Trade Promotion Centre at Whitefield in addition to the existing 10,000 sq. ft, he said. He suggested officials to give importance to the development of industries in tier 2 and 3 tier cities
Officials of KIADB, Karnataka Udyoga Mitra, Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre, KSDL, MSIL, and other enterprises were present.
S. Selvakumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries, Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner, Department of Commerce and Industries and other senior officials attended the meeting.
