Bengaluru: The City Police have arrested 38 drug peddlers in 8 divisions of the city in the last 4 days. 55 kgs of ganja, 215 gms of ganja oil, 768 gms of opium, and 15 gms of synthetic drugs were seized. A case has been registered against 347 people including drug addicts under the NDPS Act.
Recently, drug and ganja networks have been discovered in the state and strict action has been taken against this backdrop. The accused who was selling drugs near colleges and PGs was recently arrested by Bengaluru Police. Fayaz Pasha alias Pillu is an arrested drug peddler. Thalaghattapura Police Station got information about the sale of ganja in a vacant plot near Gubbala, conducted an operation and arrested the accused.
Over 15 kgs of ganja, cash and bike worth Rs. 10.50 lakh were seized from the arrested accused Pillu. Cases were registered against the accused in various police stations including Banashankari, Jayanagar, Koramangala, K. S. Layout. Currently, the Police have arrested the accused and have started an investigation.
In another case, while sitting in jail, the accused continued to deal in ganja with his wife and children and the woman fell into the trap of the police. Mujju’s wife, Nagma, who was arrested and jailed by the J. J. Nagar police a month ago in a ganja racket, was caught by the Kalasipalya Police while transporting ganja. Later, the police also imprisoned her.
Both husband and wife belong now in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail and the children are now orphans. It was discovered that this husband and wife were running the ganja business using their young children. It is said that she used her three children as weapons to bring ganja.
