Tech giant Google has recently launched a new feature called “Help Me Visualize” for Google Slides, incorporating the power of artificial intelligence (AI). This feature enables users to generate backgrounds and images for their presentations on Google Slides. The announcement of this feature took place during Google I/O 2023 last month.
One can use this feature by going to the “Help Me Visualize” side panel within Google Slides and entering a prompt to start the image production process. It is crucial to remember that the feature is being gradually rolled out to desktop users and may not be available to all users right now.
Users must join up for Google Workspace Labs and agree to the terms and conditions in order to access the new AI-powered functionality. Once in Google Slides, they can use the “Help Me Visualize” prompt to create AI-powered visuals. Users can, for example, ask Google Slides to create an image of a picnic or an abstract artwork.
After entering the prompt, users have the option to choose from six different render styles, namely Photography, Clip Art, Background, Flat lay, and Illustration.
In addition to this development, Google has also introduced viewer mode in Google Meet. Viewers in a meeting refer to attendees who are unable to share their audio or video during the session. Meeting organizers can designate leading, presenting, or moderating attendees as co-hosts and contributors.
The inclusion of spectator mode in Google Meet is especially useful for large-scale meetings such as webinars or town halls. Distractions such as audio disturbances can be reduced by designating select attendees as “viewers,” allowing participants to focus more intently on the speaker and the topic being given.
Viewers on Google Meet will soon have access to features such as Q&As and polls, according to a blog post on the Google Workspace update. The current implementation, however, does not support in-meeting chat or emoji reactions for viewers; nevertheless, these capabilities are intended to be included in future releases.
Google’s introduction of the “Help Me Visualize” feature in Google Slides demonstrates the increasing integration of AI capabilities into productivity tools. With its ability to generate images based on prompts, this feature offers users a convenient and innovative way to enhance their presentations.
