Bengaluru: The submission of applications for another much-awaited Gruha Jyothi Guarantee Scheme of the Congress Government, which will provide 200 units of free electricity, has started across the state from June 18.
In many places, the Seva Sindhu portal server has been down and thousands of people went back without being able to submit the application. Gruha Jyothi Yojana will be implemented from July 1. To take advantage of this scheme, it is possible to apply from June 18.
Government has instructed to operate from BESCOM office and NADA offices. It was instructed to apply from June 17, 11.00 am. However, almost all the servers are down and hence it has been not possible to apply for the scheme, while in some other places, the public is waiting to apply to BESCOM offices but are unable to apply because the Seva Sindhu portal server is down. The incident took place after the public who had been waiting for applications since morning and were unable to submit the application, got tired of waiting and returned.
Although June 18 being Sunday is a holiday, the NADA office and BESCOM offices were open for accepting applications. But since in the morning Seva Sindhu server was showing fully busy, there is a problem on the very first day of submission of application under Gruha Jyothi Yojana. The portal was closed shortly after opening. In many places, there was an incident where the public waited till noon and then went back. The website is closing again shortly after opening as there has been a technical problem. So, due to some technical error, most of the applications are not being accepted too.
A BESCOM official said that technical experts are trying to fix this error.
