Bengaluru: In a high drama, the encroachment clearance operation was conducted on June 19 in Doddanekundi and Hoysala City under Mahadevpura zone BBMP limits. Locals and Former MLA Nandish Reddy opposed the start of bulldozing near the apartment encroached area.
The Residents of Ferns City Layout in Doddanekundi have expressed their opposition to the Rajakaluve evacuation operation. BBMP is conducting Operation Rajakaluve and JCBs are roaring again in action from June 19. A target of 100 clearances has been set in 15 days. Aiming to clear encroachment before the onset of rains, BBMP has decided to carry out clearance operations in Doddanekundi and Panathur in Mahadevpur zone. About 8 to 10 buildings are marked in Doddanekundi.
Mahadevapura Zone has started an encroachment clearance operation in Panathur and Doddanekundi. BBMP has collected information that a total of 571 places have to be vacated. The encroachment started from near Bagmane and the Doddanekundi encroachment clearance operation has started.
There is a lot of opposition to the removal of encroachments on the Rajakaluve. In Doddanekundi’s Ferns City, 15 places have been marked and local residents have vented their anger against the BBMP personnel. They said that instead of demolishing the building of the rich people, they are demolishing the building of the poor ones.
A woman had created a huge high drama as the encroachment clearance operation began. She blocked the path by standing across JCB, as if they were not allowed to clear. The house has been seized by the police. After occupying 15 metres, the officials started the operation.
Former MLA Nandish Reddy has also expressed opposition to the eviction operation. He also insisted to not let them carry out the evacuation operation by standing in the middle of the road. In Mahadevpura, the BJP has got a huge lead, so you all are demolishing these buildings in our area, Nandish Reddy alleged.
The compound wall, club house building, swimming pool, sewage treatment plant (S.T.) which was illegally constructed on the 200 metre long Rajakaluve by encroaching on the Rajakaluve passing through the Fern City Survey No. 24/1, 3, 4 and 5 under the Doddanekundi Ward of Mahadevpura Zone have been cleared.
Further, the Gowdru Rajanna Hotel Shed, a vacant lot encroaching on about 200 meters long Rajakaluve, after Fern City, was cleared by the Corporation. When they tried to vacate the Bhagani hotel, the hotel owner informed that they would vacate by themselves, and the officials instructed the hotel owner to vacate quickly.
The encroachment clearance operation is being conducted under the leadership of Corporation Engineers, Land Surveyors and Tehsildars. Zone Chief Engineer Lokesh informed that more than 40 police personnel were working for the security of the officers/staff at the said place and 1 Hitachi and 10 gang men were involved in clearing the encroachment.
Over 4 shops and 1 car service station, which were constructed by unauthorised encroachment of about 200 feet long Rajakaluve passing next to the Hoysalanagara Main Road of K. R. Puram, Horamavu Sub-Division, have been cleared. 1 JCB, 2 tractors, more than 10 gang men and police personnel were deployed for the evacuation operation.
In Mahadevapura area under BBMP jurisdiction, after identifying the unauthorised encroachment of the Rajakaluve, demarcation is done by the land surveyor, orders are issued to the encroachers by Tahasildar and encroachment clearance operation is being carried out in a step-by-step manner. Accordingly, the encroachment in the Fern City premises was cleared and in the afternoon, the owner of Fern City brought an injunction from the High Court. Basavaraj Kabade, the Chief Engineer of the Storm Water Drain Department, said that encroachments such as Fern City, which have been brought in a restraining order, will be settled quickly in the court, the encroachments will be cleared and canals will be constructed to allow rain water to flow easily.
Encroachment clearance operation in Anjanapura Ward of Bommanahalli Zone at the site earmarked for park. In Anjanapura Ward, Thippasandra Village, Narayananagar 2nd Stage BDA approved layout Survey No. 1 of Bommanahalli Zone, Anjanapura Ward had encroached on an area of about 20 X 70 and 6 shops had been illegally constructed was demolished by 2 JCBs.
