Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) in India has launched the nation’s first undergraduate curriculum in Computer Science and Financial Technology, the B.Tech in Computer Science and Financial Technology. This programme, developed in conjunction with FinTech professionals, seeks to generate industry-ready graduates with a thorough understanding of banking, insurance, and capital markets. MIT Manipal cements its position as a forerunner in cutting-edge education by establishing this new programme.
The B.Tech in Computer Science and Financial Technology programme at MIT Manipal is a collaborative effort between three departments: Humanities and Management, Computer Science and Engineering, and Mathematics.
Commander (Dr.) Anil Rana, Director of Manipal Institute of Technology, expressed his excitement about the launch of this groundbreaking programme, stating, “We are thrilled to introduce the first-ever B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Financial Technology in India. With the approval of the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the B.Tech in Computer Science and Financial Technology programme at MIT Manipal is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education in India. This programme will equip students with the skills to seize the opportunities presented by the dynamic FinTech industry and support India’s growth as a global fintech leader amidst its rapid expansion.
Prof. Yogesh Pai, the Professor and Head of the Department of Humanities and Management at MAHE, emphasised the significance of introducing this programme, stating, “The B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Financial Technology at MIT Manipal marks a significant milestone in the Indian education landscape. We are excited about the opportunities this program will create for students and the transformative impact they will have on the industry.”
