Bengaluru: Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, a renowned organisation dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities, successfully hosted a Felicitation Ceremony on June 24. The event celebrated the remarkable achievements of students who secured distinction in the SSLC and PUC Board examination. The ceremony was held with great enthusiasm and received overwhelming support from various dignitaries and attendees.
Among the exceptional students recognised at the ceremony were Bhavana and Bhagamma, visually impaired girls who achieved outstanding scores of 97% and 96%, respectively, in the SSLC exams. Their accomplishments exemplify their determination and resilience in overcoming challenges.
In the PUC exams, out of 147 students who appeared, 123 students passed, resulting in an impressive pass percentage of 84%. Among them, 25 students attained distinction including 6 students with visual impairments. Additionally, 53 students achieved a first-class distinction. Noteworthy achievements in the PUC exams include Anusha T., an economically challenged student who secured the highest score of 97%. Additionally, Thirumalaiah and Manu D., both visually impaired, secured 95.5% and 90% respectively. Nayana J., who has a locomotive disability, achieved an impressive score of 95%.
The distinguished Chief Guest of the day was the Justice B. S. Patil, Lokayukta, State of Karnataka. Justice B. S. Patil’s inspiring words on self-worth, the manifestation of thoughts into energy leading to positive actions, and the 4Ls – Live, love, laugh, Leave a legacy – as quoted by Stephen Covey, motivated the students present to strive for even greater heights. Other chief guests were S. S. Kivadasannavar, Advocate and Former President of the Belagavi Bar Association, and Dr. Shakuntala Samuelson, Principal of SRN Adarsh College.
The Felicitation Ceremony was presided over by Dr. Mahantesh Kivadasannavar, the Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. Dr. Kivadasannavar’s visionary leadership and dedication have been instrumental in transforming the lives of numerous individuals with disabilities.
The event witnessed the felicitated students, their classmates, and proud parents, along with Trustees and Principals of schools supporting Samarthanam Higher Education. The presence of the esteemed guests, along with the entire team of Samarthanam, created an atmosphere filled with joy, inspiration, and celebration.
