Bengaluru: It has been a month since the Congress Government in the state came to power with a huge majority. Meanwhile, BJP leaders are predicting that the Siddaramaiah-led Government will not sustain itself for five years. Also, there has been a lot of buzz in the KPCC corridors that Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar has complained with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
There has been talk of a rift between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar from the very beginning. The cold war between the two has continued even after the formation of the Government in the state, it is said.
AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge usually travels between Bengaluru and Delhi as his residence is in Bengaluru. However, this time Kharge, who arrived in Bengaluru, was received by DK Shivakumar at Kempegowda Airport.
Shivakumar, who was travelling in Kharge’s car, had a discussion for more than one-and-a-half hours. He is said to have complained against Siddaramaiah during this interaction.
Shivakumar is reportedly upset that Siddaramaiah has been posting his own supporters to positions in various departments, including the Chief Minister and the Assembly Secretariat, after the formation of the Government.
The CM is giving top priority to Mysuru in the recruitment of contractual employees to various ministries. It is for this reason that DK has lodged a complaint with Kharge.
Shivakumar met Kharge and shared the information in this regard. Now, the question is, is there no compromise between Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah after all these discussions? Is there a cold war between the two? Is Shivakumar unhappy with the transfer and appointment of contractual employees? Congress mired in confusion due to guarantees seems to be grappling with infighting too in Karnataka. Forming Government is easy, sustaining is herculean task proces Congress regime.
