Expressing his gratitude, Nilekani described IIT-Bombay as a cornerstone in his life and expressed his commitment to contribute to its future. He stated that his donation is not just a financial contribution but also a tribute to the place that has given him so much and a commitment to the students who will shape the world.
The Director of IIT-Bombay, Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri, referred to Nilekani’s donation as the beginning of a new era in the institute’s history. He expressed delight at Nilekani’s continued contributions, emphasising that the historic donation would significantly accelerate the growth of IIT-Bombay and establish it as a global leader.
