At present, the cost of going to theatres and watching a movie is really expensive. This is an experience of those who go to watch movies in malls of Bengaluru and buy a mere popcorn on a break. And the shocking part is that the price of those popcorns and juices are higher than the movie ticket itself.
Popcorn bill goes viral
Those who have watched movies in malls and PVR would have experienced this. Some people don’t want to eat anything during intervals due to exorbitant prices. Almost everyone keeps sharing the price of snacks outside the mall on social media. Recently, a Twitter user shared a popcorn bill. The post is going viral and netizens are saying that OMG, I don’t want this popcorn.
Yes, we can see only two food items in the bill shared by Twitter user Tridip K. Mandal. One is 55 grams of cheese popcorn and the other is 600 ml of Pepsi and the bill for both of them is a whopping Rs. 820. The user shared an expensive bill like Rs. 460 for cheese popcorn, and Rs. 360 for Pepsi.
Tridip K. Mandal shared the tweet on July 2. The post garnered 1.2 million views and 17.8k likes in a matter of seconds. Similarly, comments have been pouring in criticising the expensive bill. Netizens are furious that it is quite expensive to watch the movie and enjoy a leisure day in today’s times.

One user wrote that it is not surprising that people have stopped going to theatres. Another user wrote that instead of eating popcorn, one can have a full meal after the movie is over. Others said it was better to simply take some snacks from home (though it is not allowed). Some users also said it was one’s choice to eat at such places.
