The major crisis faced by the youth today is, the lack of general knowledge. With no much research the reason is easily analysed. The lack of reading habit!
Once upon a time, there was a day in the life of our parents and grandparents, which would not be complete without reading particular day’s newspaper. In the digital world with technological enhancement, mobile phone have become the major source to all forms of benefits. From a daily milk packet to the festival shopping, mobile phone gives us the access to everything, being seated at the comfort of our homes. But the major hit that have occurred is to the upcoming generation of our country.
When the kids of 90s spent their childhood discussing the new story book in the town, the plot of ‘to be continued’ series in one of the magazines, The kid’s born in 2000’, opened their eyes and saw mobile phones next to them. And are continuing to discuss about the way they can destroy the enemy through a new trick, in their mobile phone game. Playing games online is not bad but what is concerning is, the ignorance and the least attraction being drawn towards any forms reading habits, except for curriculum texts.
Books and write-ups have the power to drag the reader towards it. But what is necessary is a platform to introduce the scope for reading. In this era of social media scholars, the state Governments should pass an order, mandating to inculcate the reading habits among students. The daily newspaper reading and getting updated with current affairs should turn out to be a common practice among all the students of the institute. May reading habits be adopted so much that, the fake forward messages cease to become a significant and worth reading element every day.
