Bengaluru: Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) informs Namma Metro passengers that from July 10 to August 9, i.e., there will be a disruption in metro traffic for one month. Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation has issued an announcement that Metro Traffic will be closed for 2 hours every day from July 10 to August 9.
From July 20 to August 9, the services of trains are suspended from 5.00 am to 7.00 am every day as signaling and other works are being carried out connecting Baiyappanahalli and Krishnarajapuram stations.
Two metro trains between Baiyappanahalli-Swami Vivekananda Road and Krishnarajpuram-Whitefield (Kadugodi) are suspended from 5.00 am to 7.00 am. After 7.00 am, train traffic between Baiyappanahalli-Kengeri, Krishnarajpura-Whitefield (Kadugodi) will continue as usual till 11.00 pm. BMRCL informed that there will be no change in train services on the green line.
A few days ago, the purple route Baiyyappanahalli-Kengeri route was disrupted. Thus, metro passengers had to struggle without metro service for many hours. Metro traffic was supposed to start at 6.00 am as usual. However, at 5.45 am, the metro traffic never started due to a signaling problem. As usual, the passengers came to the metro station and made an alternative arrangement without the metro. Even during the peak hour, the metro station was full of commuters. Due to a problem at the Baiyyappanahalli Metro Station, train traffic was suspended up to the Kengeri route.
As soon as the problem was found at the metro station, the metro technical and engineering team visited Baiyyappanahalli Metro Station and solved the problem. As it was the peak hour, the Metro was run manually at a frequency of 10 minutes. From 12.10 pm, the Namma Metro returned to normal condition and metro traffic started as usual. Due to the signal problem, the metro had to be run manually. While running the train manually, the speed and frequency were reduced. The train used to run every 10 minutes. The problem was resolved by stopping the train at Baiyyappanahalli metro station at 12 o’clock.
