Bengaluru: The prestigious Tata Technologies company has come forward to set up three Common Engineering Facility Centers (CEFC- Common Engineering Facility Center) in the state by investing Rs 2000 Crore.
The top officials of the company on July 12 met the Minister of Large and Medium Industries M. B. Patil at the Vidhan Souda Office and discussed the proposal in this regard.
The company’s objective is to set up centres for these units with a particular focus on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Minister Patil said that there is a plan to establish it on the PPP model of government-private partnership, while Tata Technologies will invest 70 percent and the government’s share will be 30 percent.
It is said that this is the first time in the state that a proposal has been submitted for the establishment of CEFC for MSMEs.
Each centre will cost about Rs. 630 Crore. Advance manufacturing 4.0, electric vehicle testing, and space and defense industries are now being established in large numbers. Similarly, he explained that this will be of great benefit to the start-ups of these sectors.
This proposal is welcome. The government has also emphasised on strengthening MSMEs. He said that each centre will require about five acres of land, and it will be decided in the coming days where to give it.
Tata Technologies Chairman Pawan Bhageria, Vice Chairman Pushkaraj Koulagood, and Chief Praveen Divekar were present. Industries Department Principal Secretary Selvakumar and Commissioner Gunjan Krishna were also present.
