Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, a filmmaker, claims he is not in the “Bollywood game” and so does not believe in concepts like box office clash. On Twitter, the filmmaker was asked about his next film The Vaccine War clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s actioner Jawan, to which he responded that the superstar’s picture will undoubtedly be a “all time blockbuster.”
Jawan will be released on September 7, while The Vaccine War will be released on September 28 and will compete with Prabhas’ Salaar at the box office.
When a Twitter fan questioned Agnihotri if he had the “guts” to clash his film with Jawan’s, the filmmaker responded, “We aren’t in the Bollywood game, and terms like ‘clash’ etc. are for stars and media. “I am confident that S RK’s Jawan will be an all-time classic. But, after you’ve seen it, please see our short film about India’s greatest triumph in a war you’ve never heard of: #TheVaccineWar.”
In response to a user who urged him not to clash his film with Salaar, the filmmaker stated that his picture is a “small content driven” film aimed at a family audience. “There is always a clash between titans.” We couldn’t be more dissimilar.
#TheVaccineWar is a short, content-driven film aimed at families. You’d want to show it to the kids. He will be pleased with India and its WOMEN scientists.”
According to the filmmaker, India is a diversified country with room for many types of audiences, and not everyone would want to watch an action picture. “Not every family wishes to take their children to see maar dhaad movies. Some people enjoy showing children videos that inspire, educate, and enlighten them. #ATrueStory #TheVaccineWar.”
