Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) South Zone Commissioner Jayaram Raipur instructed the officials to take precautionary measures to avoid any kind of problem during the rainy season in the South Zone and to take all necessary measures to avoid any disaster to the public property.
He spoke in a coordination meeting held with various departments regarding the implementation of precautionary measures for the rainy season in the south zone of the city. He said that during the rainy season, the officials of the Corporation, Bescom, BWSSB and the mobile police department have been instructed to work in coordination and ensure that there is no problem anywhere.
When it rains with wind, trees and twigs will fall in many places. In this regard, the forest branch of the corporation and the firefighting personnel have been instructed to clear the fallen trees immediately and ensure that there is no problem to the citizens.
In the rainwater channels of the southern zone, the horizontal water supply pipes should be identified and moved elsewhere so that the rainwater flows smoothly. Out of this, the Water Board Department was instructed to take appropriate measures.
There are 10 sensitive areas affected by floods in the south zone and the problem has been solved in 8 places. In other two places, a temporary solution was taken, and the officials were instructed to find a permanent solution after the end of the rainy season.
Zonal Joint Commissioner Dr. K. Jagdish Naik, Deputy Commissioner Lakshmidevi, Chief Engineer Rajesh, BWSSB, BESCOM, traffic police, fire officials and other officials were present in the meeting.
