Haveri: It is common for the politicians to expect ticket for Parliament election, once they are defeated in Assembly election. Now it’s the turn of Former Minister B. C. Patil, who was defeated in the Assembly elections, who is eyeing the Lok Sabha election ticket. Accordingly, he has expressed his desire to contest from Haveri Lok Sabha constituency.
The behind the scenes activities to contest the Lok Sabha elections has already begun. Similarly, there is a plan to leave Hirekerur constituency to his daughter Srushti Patil. Srushti Patil is active in politics along with her father.
Patil is currently eyeing the BJP ticket from Haveri. B. C. Patil, a four-time MLA and a minister last time, is concentrating on Haveri Lok Sabha constituency. Shivakumar Udasi, who is currently an MP from Haveri constituency, will not contest the next Lok Sabha elections. This is the reason why B. C. Patil is seeking a ticket.
However, former Deputy Chief Minister K. S. Eshwarappa is eyeing Haveri constituency as he had sacrificed for the party in the Assembly elections and turned to Haveri for his son’s political future. He had demanded a ticket for his son as he was denied a ticket in the Assembly elections. However, as per the High Command’s calculations, Eshwarappa’s son, Kanthesh, was denied a ticket there too. Now, Eshwarappa is said to have demanded a ticket for his son from Haveri constituency.
A few days ago, Eshwarappa had said that his son Kanthesh is an aspirant for the Lok Sabha elections from Haveri. But it remains to be seen who will be given the ticket by the High Command. Many BJP leaders, who lost the Assembly elections, have started exercising to get Lok Sabha tickets.
