Bengaluru: The encroachment clearance drive has been started from Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) where the buildings have been encroached and the secondary rain gutters have been encroached in the Shampur area of Pulakeshinagar Constituency in the east zone of the city.
Over 13 bunds have been constructed on the 700 meter long secondary rain water canal including survey number 6, 12 and 12 in Shampur area, and the Tahsildar has also given a notice to those who have encroached on the area which has already been identified by the land surveyor of the Revenue Department.
Further, under the leadership of Land Surveyor of Revenue Department, Assistant Executive Engineer of Ward, Engineer of Water Canal Division, an encroachment clearance operation was conducted. As the bunds have been constructed in the said canal area, the encroachment area should be cleared by conducting a survey again through Electronic Total Station (ETS) survey. In this regard, ETS survey will be conducted from tomorrow and encroachment clearance will continue.
In the encroachment areas that have already been identified, the house owners are voluntarily vacating, and after the completion of the ETS survey, the entire encroachment will be cleared and the construction of secondary rain water drains will be taken up.
Mahadevpur Zone Kadugodi Ward Chennasandra has built shops in the 30 metre long Rajakaluve and they are voluntarily clearing the illegally constructed shops.
Unauthorised building eviction drive spot visit in South Zone: Zonal Commissioner
The Commissioner of BBMP South Zone, Jayaram Raipura said that the clearance operation of unauthorized buildings being constructed contrary to the map has been started in BBMP South Zone and the clearance operation of unauthorised buildings will be carried out step by step.
While visiting and inspecting the site of unauthorised building clearance operations in front of Basavanagudi swimming pool in South Zone, Jayaram said that the final order has been issued by Urban Planning-South under BBMP Act 356(2) for 80 unauthorized buildings being constructed contrary to the map in South Zone of the corporation and the building clearance operation has been started.
Recently officials have been instructed to visit the spot and demolish the illegally constructed two floors opposite Basavanagudi swimming pool at No. 19 Pampa Mahakavi Road under Chickpet Assembly Constituency.
Based on the complaints that the buildings are being constructed contrary to the map in many places in the southern zone, the city planning authorities have proved the additional floors with documents, the concerned officials have visited the place and inspected and issued an order to vacate the buildings constructed in violation of the map.
Zonal Commissioner Jayaram Raipur said that in the next few days, a plan has been prepared to clear the extra floors that are being constructed contrary to the map, and the work of clearing will continue and the restraining orders in the court have been lifted and the extra floors that are being constructed illegally are being cleared.
Among the assembly constituencies of South Zone, including 31 blocks in Chickpet, 18 blocks in Jayanagar, 16 blocks in Basavanagudi, 9 buildings in Padmanabhanagar, 5 buildings in BTM barangay and 1 building in Vijayanagar, a total of 80 buildings have been constructed contrary to the map and the violated buildings will be cleared step by step.
