Koppal: It has been 6 years since the Anjanadri Hill, which has a historical background of the Ramayana period, was taken over by the Government, and in these six years, Rs 6 Crore of revenue has been collected from the devotees, which has given new hope for development.
Anjanadri mountain, which is within Chikkarampura Village of Gangavati Taluk of Koppala, is known as the birth place of Hanuman in Ramayana. As the Anjanadri mountain near Hampi has a lot of history, a large number of devotees are coming from across the country and abroad, including local devotees.
Especially during the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, thousands of devotees come to Anjanadri mountain to have the darshan of Anjaneya Swami. Anjanadri Mountain, which is as holy as Ayodhya, is being maintained by the Taluk Administration and Religious Endowment Department for the last 6 years, and they are working hard for the development of the temple by providing all facilities to the devotees.
The Anjanadri hill temple, which was run in private ownership for about years, was taken over by the Muzrai Department and the Revenue Department on July 23, 2018. The District Administration is responsible for the management of the temple. At the time it was taken over by the privately owned trust, the temple Hundi had only Rs. 247 in donations. At present, including money from temple hundi, parking, sale of Laddu, Tirtha Prasad, and money from various services, the total income is more than Rs 6 crorze in a period of 6 years.
Around Rs. 73,09,505 was collected from July 23, 2018 to March 31, 2019 when the Taluk Administration took over the responsibility of temple maintenance. Rs. 1,12,62,404 has been collected from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020. Rs. 78,95,030 has been collected from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021. Rs. 1,29,42,104 has been collected from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. Rs. 2,84,32,028 has been collected from March 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023.
A total of Rs. 6,78,40,941 has been accumulated over a period of 6 years. A total of Rs. 3,83,49,281 has been spent in this including temple maintenance, staff salary, and miscellaneous expenses. Another Rs. 2,94,91,659 has been saved in banks.
