New Delhi: The YSR Congress Party, which had distanced itself from the NDA, has reportedly decided to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central Government again.
The YSR Congress led by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy now will support the BJP. Top sources in the YSR Congress said that the party will vote against the no-confidence motion.
YSR Congress Party’s Rajya Sabha leader V. Vijayasai Reddy said the party will support the bills introduced by the BJP in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The YSR Congress has announced that it will support the bill in both houses of Parliament to replace the ordinance issued for its powers and control over the civil services in the National Capital.
Just two days ago, the Central Government had promulgated an ordinance to introduce the bill in both houses of Parliament, the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha.
Notably, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy-led YSRCP’s statement that it will support the bill comes at a time when opposition alliance I. N. D. I. A has moved a no-confidence motion against the BJP-led NDA Government.
The YSRC party’s decision has given an elephant’s strength to the BJP, which was short of a majority in the Rajya Sabha. Despite having an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha, the NDA was short of a few votes in the Rajya Sabha. The passage of the controversial bill is clear as the YSRC party, which has 22 members in the Lok Sabha and nine in the Rajya Sabha, has extended its support to the NDA.
We support the Central Government’s decision, said YSRC party leader V. Vijayasai Reddy and added that they will vote in favour of the Government in both houses of Parliament. A few days ago, CM Jaganmohan Reddy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Now, the support to the BJP-led NDA alliance has given a boost to the ruling party.
