Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently said that Uttar Pradesh has got more visitors than Goa.
Addressing at a gathering in Mathura, he said, “Today UP is drawing the maximum number of tourists. Earlier Goa was at number one and Uttar Pradesh at number three. But last year 80 lakh tourists went to Goa and Seven Crore devotees came to Kashi (Varanasi) and Six Crore devotees visited the Braj area.”
By reading this many people may be surprises, however, it’s true. Goa is the favourite tourist spot for both North Indians and South Indians. But moreover, it is a good sign that UP’s Varanasi is seeing highest number of tourists.
Not only Varanasi the other religious centres like Ayodhya, and Mathura also witness highest number of tourists.
Around 7 Crore tourists visited Varanasi, whereas Mathura and Ayodhya witnessed 6 Crore and 2.6 Crore, respectively. But only 80 Lakh of people visited Goa in 2022.
