Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up to use the commission allegations against the Congress Government as a powerful political weapon. The Pay CS campaign has been conducted in some places on the lines of Pay CM and the BJP is planning to launch a campaign in the coming days.
The 40% commission weapon against the BJP was used by the Congress when it was in Opposition. Even in the elections, it yielded results beyond expectations. Now, a faction of contractors has also accused the Congress of 15% commission. It is alleged that a commission has been demanded for the release of old bill dues.
Contractors’ Association President D. Kempanna has now requested that Rs. 25,000 Crore dues be released at the earliest. If it is not released by August 31, he has warned of further agitation.
The BJP is planning to launch a vigorous fight against the state Government over the allegations of bribery levelled against Minister Cheluvaraya Swamy and the demand for commission made by BBMP contractors. Preparations are on to give a strong fight to the Congress by making wall writing or posters.
For now, the leader of the Opposition will be finalised. The BJP’s strategy is to wage a big fight once the leader of the Opposition is elected. In this way, it is trying to heat up the Government.
The contractors allegations are, of course, embarrassing for the Congress. The Government is also strategising to counter the BJP’s weapon. The letter against Cheluvarayaswamy has already handed over the case to the CID. An SIT has been formed to look into the issue of payment of dues of contractors. The Government is now preparing to respond to the BJP’s allegations.
