On Inside the NBA, Charles Barkley always finds a way to amuse the audience. However, occasionally Barkley does something embarrassing, like the time he demonstrated how to wipe his reading glasses.
In January 2022, the studio cameras caught Barkley polishing his glasses on an episode of Inside the NBA. The Chuckster licked the glass before wiping the entire thing, as opposed to the norm when folks would use the cleaning cloth to make things clear.
The dirty habit was mocked by Shaquille O’Neal, Ernie Johnson, and Kenny Smith, but Barkley comically defended his behaviour.
“That’s how I clean my glasses,” Barkley said. “I need to be able to see. It’s more important for me to see than worry about hygiene. I can’t do anything without you filming it.”
It should be mentioned that he uses his saliva to clean things other than just his reading spectacles Inside the NBA’s video crew captured Charles Barkley licking his phone in April 2018. Barkley asserted that this is how he always does it to defend his behaviour.
A phone is probably ten times filthy than the majority of toilet seats, according to researchers at the University of Arizona (h/t Reader’s Digest). It should be routinely cleansed with a cleaning solution and not with saliva because it typically has more than 17,000 copies of the bacterial gene on its surface alone.
“Your phone is exposed to everything you touch,” Whoosh! product manager Adriana Catinari said.
“What’s on your hands is on your phone. Healthcare experts stress that washing your hands frequently with soap and water is the best defense against the spread of germs that cause sicknesses and viruses to spread.”
Luckily, for Barkley, Whoosh! CEO Jason Greenspan sent a bunch of their products to help him clean his phone better.
