Bengaluru: Science and Technology Minister N. S. Bose Raju witnessed India scripting history by being a part of the public in watching the soft landing of Chandrayaan 3 at Nehru Planetarium on August 23.
The soft landing of Chandrayaan 3 was telecast on the big screen at Nehru Planetarium. Thousands of students and General public watched the history in the making. Bose Raju became emotional as the Vikram Lander made a soft touchdown at 6.04 pm. The Minister was seen wiping the tears of joy at this momentous occasion.
A similar telecast of the Vikram Lander’s soft touchdown was also arranged at Pilikula Science Centre in Mangaluru and Science Centre at Dharawad. It was really a sight to be seen when Bose Raju sat among thousands of students and watched the historic moment.
After the event, Bose Raju said there are two regional science centres, eight sub regional Science Centres and 11 mobile planetariums in Karnataka.
“We are mulling to come out with an action plan to imbibe scientific temperament among the students in the young age. We intend to provide telescopes and microscopes to all schools and also train the teachers about the way these should be used,” the Science and Technology Minister explained.
Later speaking to the reporters, Bose Raju complimented the ISRO scientists, engineers and technocrats for the remarkable success of Chandrayaan 3.
“This is a historical milestone. Our scientific community had upheld India’s pride and self-respect. I wish Team ISRO all success for their mission during the next 14 days,” Bose Raju added.
