As the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida gears up to host the thrilling MotoGP spectacle from September 22 to 24, the safety vehicles arrive at the venue. This weekend, the engines will roar as the anticipation soars. Safety measures are also locked in place to make event goes down in Indian motorsport history as the debut MotoGP episode in the Nation.
MotoGP Guardians Arrive
The safety cars and bike made their grand entrance at the Buddh International Circuit, signalling that the countdown to the Indian Oil Grand Prix of India MotoGP has begun in earnest. This much-anticipated event promises high-speed adrenaline, and every precaution is being taken to ensure the safety of the riders.
To keep the racers out of harm’s way, a fleet of three cars and a 1000 cc BMW supersport will remain highly vigilant.
BMW in Full Force
Three safety cars will stand sentinel during this heart-pounding race, including the illustrious BMW M5CS. Their role is pivotal, offering rapid medical assistance in case of any on-track incidents, and they can be swiftly deployed to assess track conditions.
In addition to the M5CS, the BMW M2 (G87) and the BMW M3 Touring have arrived, bolstering our trackside defences. The BMW M 1000 RR, a machine of pure precision and power, will be unleashed on the circuit, ready to keep the racers safe.
The Grand Showdown is Set
The Indian Oil Grand Prix of India, a collaboration between Fair Street Sports and Dorna Sports, is set to electrify with 41 teams and 82 riders across the MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3 categories. The roster boasts esteemed riders like Francesco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez, Marco Bezzecchi, Brad Binder, Jack Miller, and Jorge Martin, ensuring a star-studded showdown.
The event is poised to attract a whopping 1.5 lakh visitors, including over 10,000 foreign enthusiasts with representation from 22 countries.
Safety Meets Speed
Our dedicated police force is going the extra mile with over 3,000 personnel, including 1,000 traffic cops, to manage the massive crowds and traffic flow. Checkpoints are strategically positioned, and regular patrols are underway to make sure everyone enjoys the event safely.
For the first time in history, India plays host to a round of the FIM MotoGP World Championship. The race promises to draw in over Rs. 100 crore (about US$13 million) in revenue for the state.
