Bengaluru: Minister for Science and Technology N. S. Bose Raju on september 21 emphasized the need to impart technical education with an aim to promote self – employment.
He was speaking to the officers and faculty of the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy during his visit to the Institute at Vidyaranyapura. He appreciated the efforts of being made by the Academy to enhance knowledge among students in Science in local Kannada language.
“This academy is working with an aim to hone the skills of the students as a resource Centre. This will enable the students to take up self – employment. The focus and thrust must be on generating self – employment,” the Science and Technology Minister added.
He directed the officials of the Department to hold training camps in this respect. Bose Raju also directed the officials to prepare an action-plan in order to generate interest among rural students towards Science.
“The students must be able to watch documentary videos and also undertake practical training and experiment in laboratories and workshops. The action-plan must concentrate on these vital aspects,” the Science and Technology minister explained.
Training programme to women journalists in Science and Technology. Bose Raju said the state government is mulling to provide resource material and organize workshop to women journalists in matters related to Science and Technology.
He directed the officials to prepare the groundwork for conducting workshop to women journalists in Science and Technology.
