Bengaluru: Infrastructure Development Development Minister MB Patil on Thursday set a deadline for the officials to complete civil works of the ongoing Vijayapura Airport by November and to set it ready to be inaugurated by February 2024.
While chairing a review meeting on infrastructure projects he told the officials to obtain necessary clearances from various concerned authorities including the Directorate of Civil Aviation well before time. Meanwhile, he also asked officials to hold talks with air service-providing companies to facilitate direct flight services to prominent locations.
About constructing a four-way road to connect the airport with the nearby passing National Highway, he told officials to complete the process of the required 5.5 acres of land acquisition expeditiously. Out of the total cost of Rs. 54.50 crores spent for this road Rs. 6.00 crores will be towards land acquisition, he added.
He also directed to make appointments of security and fire staff, the Director of the airport and the Terminal Manager and also to procure the required vehicles in the next two months.
About Tumkuru- Rayadurga and Tumakuru- Davanagere railway projects, Patil instructed to complete the land acquisition by February 2024.
Patil also examined the progress of MSIL, KSDL, MC&A and other entities which function under the Industries department.
