In a relentless display of military force, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) executed a series of precision airstrikes targeting over 200 sites within the Al-Furqan neighbourhood of Gaza. This marked the third wave of Israeli counterstrikes, bringing the total number of targeted sites to a staggering 450.
The IDF emphasised that the Al-Furqan neighbourhood had transformed into a hub for Hamas activities, serving as a launchpad for the terrorists’ relentless attacks against Israel. The Israel Air Force vowed to maintain its strong stance against the infrastructure of Hamas while continuing with a sustained offensive in the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, the IDF confirmed the arrival of the first shipment of US armaments at the Nevatim Airbase in southern Israel, underscoring the critical cooperation between the two nations to ensure extermination of terrorists.
This series of events unfolded following Israel’s recapture of Gaza’s border areas from Hamas. The ongoing conflict erupted after a cowardly surprise attack by Hamas on the Jewish Sabbath.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has unequivocally stated that this military campaign is just the beginning of a protracted effort to obliterate Hamas and bring about a transformation in the Middle East.
As the air force is levelling Gaza, an Israeli ground incursion is still looming. It is the very same territory from which Hamas terrorists launched attacks via land, air, and sea to commit heinous crimes against women, elderly, children and even babies. Yes, babies.
The death toll on the Israeli side has surpassed 1,000, making it the deadliest attack in Israel’s 75-year history. Gaza, on the other hand, has lost around 900 lives, and Israel’s military reportedly discovered the bodies of approximately 1,500 terrorists.
In the Western world, leaders, including United States President Joe Biden, have unequivocally condemned the actions of Hamas as “sheer evil.” Netanyahu went further, characterising the terror group’s actions as “savagery never seen since the Holocaust,” citing instances of Israeli citizens being beheaded.
Conversely, in the Arab world, a strong pro-Palestinian sentiment has emerged, with people distributing sweets, dancing, and chanting prayers in solidarity of these terrorists. The disgusting sentiment has also spilled over to various developed Nations where pro-Palestine rallies were undertaken.
Reflecting the gravity of the situation, the Israeli army has called up 300,000 reservists and amassed tanks and heavy armor near Gaza and along the northern border with Lebanon, where hostilities with another terror group, Hezbollah persist.
The IDF reported substantial progress in reclaiming the southern region and securing the Gaza border, successfully dislodging Hamas terrorists from multiple towns. Several terrorist commanders have already met their maker in the recent Israeli strikes.
Given the unfolding events, Israel finds itself compelled to shift its policy towards Hamas from containment to a resolute campaign aimed at extermination and preventing rearmament just like what the world did to ISIS.
This not only seeks to neutralise the threat from Gaza but also to send a clear message to Iran, and Hezbollah, about Israel’s strength and capabilities.
