Hyderabad: The Indian National Congress (INC) strongly criticizes the statement made by senior BRS government minister KT Rama Rao, attributing the suicide of Pravalika to a failed relationship. In reality, Pravalika took her life due to the repeated cancellations of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) examinations.
Rama Rao went as far as to tarnish Pravalika’s character to divert attention from the government’s issues in conducting TSPSC exams, which have been marred by question paper leaks. He even claimed that Pravalika hadn’t applied for the exams, a clear contradiction to the truth. INC has publicly shared Pravalika’s applications on social media.
Pravalika, a 23-year-old who couldn’t bear the continuous exam cancellations, tragically ended her life.
INC condemns KTR and the BRS government for concealing the incompetence and corruption in TSPSC exams. They accuse the government of sacrificing the future of young Telangana residents for political gains.
KTR is also accused of spreading misinformation about Pravalika’s character and the circumstances of her suicide. The government is using its sponsored media outlets to manipulate public opinion.
Initially, they attempted to misinform the public by publishing a false statement from ACP Yadagiri of Chikkadapally, stating that Pravalika’s suicide had nothing to do with the Group 2 exams’ postponement.
Minister KTR claimed during a TV9 interview that Pravalika hadn’t applied for the Group exams, a statement widely questioned by INC.
It’s clear that the Telangana state government is failing to address the TSPSC question paper leak scandal. INC demands transparency and justice for the aspirants. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the Home Minister must provide the correct version of the TSPSC situation to the public.
Congress questions whether it’s acceptable to politicise the tragic suicide of a young woman and calls attention to the government’s inadequacies.
