Bengaluru: Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre said that Bigg Boss contestant Santosh Kumar was arrested for allegedly wearing a tiger claw pendant during the reality show.
Speaking to the media in Bengaluru on Monday, he said that a person wearing a tiger’s claw pendant in the reality show Bigg Boss, which is being broadcast on TV, is sending a wrong message to society. This is a crime. Forest officials arrested him. Action will be taken under the Wildlife Protection Act as per law.
Action will be taken against anyone under the law. A complaint has been received that Bigg Boss contestant Santosh Kumar has been using tiger claws in his jewellery. Our officials have gone to the spot and checked. Legal action has been taken under the Wildlife Protection Act. Yesterday our officials called and informed us about this issue. He said that I have given instructions to take legal action in this regard.
Varthur Santhosh has been arrested and will be thoroughly investigated by the authorities and legal action will be taken. He also said that whoever is behind this case, we will take strict action against them. He said that the government has taken the case seriously.
There is a Forest, Wildlife and Environment Protection Act in the state and the nation. We all have to do the work of strictly implementing all these laws. It is our duty to protect wildlife. The government will take legal action in that regard. There is information that poaching is still going on in many places. Recently, one was arrested in Dandeli. Minister Eshwar Khandre said that hunting of wild animals has reduced considerably.
