Bengaluru: Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, unveiled an array of strategic endeavors at the EICMA 2023 expo. These initiatives encompass an expansion into electric mobility, foray into new ICE vehicle categories, and a bold move into the European market.
Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, expressed the company’s commitment to innovation and research, highlighting their vision to “Be the Future of Mobility.” He emphasized Hero’s role as a trusted brand, serving 112 million customers globally, and their transformation into a technology powerhouse poised to meet evolving global customer demands.
Niranjan Gupta, CEO of Hero MotoCorp, announced the company’s roadmap to enter European markets, including Spain, France, and the UK, by mid-2024. He shared the company’s collaboration with esteemed partners in these regions and unveiled their first electric scooter for Europe, the VIDA V1 Pro.
The product showcase featured two new ICE scooters, Xoom 125R and Xoom 160, set to enter various international markets. Additionally, Hero introduced the VIDA V1 Pro, their inaugural e-scooter under the emerging mobility brand – VIDA, Powered by Hero. The Concept 2.5R XTunt, a new motorcycle category, was also revealed, along with two groundbreaking EV concepts – the Lynx and Acro, developed at the Tech Center Germany.
In pursuit of their global vision, Hero MotoCorp announced its entry into Europe under the VIDA brand. The VIDA V1 will lead the charge into multiple European markets, starting with Spain and France, followed by operations in the United Kingdom. Commercial operations are slated to commence in mid-2024, accompanied by the introduction of Hero’s premium range of ICE motorcycles and scooters.
