Bengaluru: The “Silicon Valley of India,” Bengaluru, played host to the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 roadshow, led by Balvantsinh Rajput, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Micro, Small and Medium Industries, Cottage, Khadi and Rural Industries, Civil Aviation, Labour and Employment, Government of Gujarat. The event saw the participation of distinguished industry leaders and officials from the Gujarat government, showcasing the immense potential of Gujarat as an investment destination.
During his address, Balvantsinh Rajput highlighted Gujarat’s significant strides in renewable energy. He announced that the state has a renewable energy capacity of 22 GW, constituting over 15% of India’s total capacity. Additionally, he mentioned ambitious projects, including a 30-GW hybrid park in Kutch and a Hydrogen Mission targeting 100 GW of energy production.
Gujarat’s achievements were underscored, with the state holding an 18% share in India’s total manufacturing and leading in the number of startups. It also boasts 11% of the country’s total factories and stands first in logistics ranking. Moreover, Gujarat contributed a substantial 33% share in exports and provided significant employment opportunities.
Balvantsinh Rajput also praised Gujarat’s innovation progress, citing projects such as GIFT City, Dholera , DREAM City, Green Field Port, LNG Terminal, and the High-Speed Rail Network. He highlighted that GIFT City, India’s first operational smart city, has positioned itself strategically alongside global financial centers, attracting major companies like Google and Capgemini.
The Hon’ble Minister extended an invitation to industry leaders to invest in Gujarat and participate in the nation’s developmental journey. The roadshow aimed to showcase Gujarat’s dynamic policies and governance, positioning the state as the gateway to the future.
The event also featured presentations on various business opportunities available in Gujarat by Dr. Rahul Gupta, IAS, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), Government of Gujarat. Additionally, industry leaders and experts shared their experiences and insights on Gujarat’s thriving business landscape.
The roadshow, which concluded in Bengaluru, followed successful events in various cities across India and globally, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Chennai, and Lucknow, as well as countries like Japan, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Singapore, Australia, France, UAE, Vietnam, South Korea, and USA.
The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 is slated to further highlight Gujarat’s commitment to sustainable practices and its readiness for future mega projects in various sectors including IT & ITeS, Semiconductor, Electronics, Aerospace & Defense, and Biotechnology. Seminars and conferences on critical topics like Semiconductor Sector, Sustainable Manufacturing, Green Hydron, Electric Mobility, Renewable Energy, and Industry 4.0 are also planned for the upcoming summit.
