Politics is now reduced to mere a game of egos. This was yet again proved today with portfolio distribution. Who won, or who lost, one never knows. Ultimately the people voted for a better day or at least for five guarantees!
D. K. Shivakumar who bid for Chief Minister’s post and later for top 5 portfolios, looks compromised with what is given. BDA, and BBMP has indeed major chunk of development projects but most of them are linked to Central Government. Now it’s time to see how DKS will deal with Central Government to complete the existing projects and how will he initiate new projects. Only time will tell. But for time being it looks checkmate for Shivakumar who is facing internal and external turmoil, within the party by CM Siddu cadre and eyternally BJP. And of course, vis-à-vis to Siddaramaiah!
Initial developments show its winning mood for CM, but his facial expressions narrate different story. It seems all is not well in the Government. Coming days will reveal more series which began with statements of M. B. Patil, one of the close aids of Siddaramaiah, and now that the number has increased drastically, it is worrisome for DK.
Coastal, and Malnad regions have been denied the ministerial post for the first time. Post the denial, contender U. T. Khader left the race, none staked a claim and Khader was left smiling as he seem to have heaved a sigh of relief as he was at least made a speaker. And now its time to see who will get District In-Charge portfolios, because each District has to get prepared for monsoon calamities.
Honeymoon period will end with the full expansion of the Cabinet and Portfolio allotment, now people are waiting for actions instead of mere words. 40% and PayCM campaign gave initial boom prior to election, while 5 guarantees are creating buzzes in the cities and villages, and hopefully will initiate social security schemes and development projects.
Ahead of general election, it is interesting to see how ruling party will perform and how oppositions will tackle the path. It looks like BJP has not overcome from the electoral debacle, whereas JD (S) is bouncing back with electoral allegation against Congress who distributed barcode based cards during election in Ramanagara and surrounding constituencies which was strong electoral base of JD (S). Now JD (S) is supporting Central BJP’s move, diplomatically, and politically appearing like anything can happen over a cup of tea!
