Election in Karnataka this year had lots of twists and turns. The people of the state give importance to development and not burden alone proved the results. Do not just speak but work too echoed the results. On the other hand, the five year term is an examination to the candidates who won. People will decide the political future of current representatives based on their performances in this term. Among all these roller-coaster ride, youth in politics have been a modern-time trend.
Attracting youth towards politics, building them to be a blind followers, making the best use of rage within them for the best of political gains and finally looking at the names of the youngsters in FIRs filed by Police officers have become a continued political norm.
In an interview given to a television news channel, Pradeep Eshwar, a new MLA of Chikaballapura constituency, who is also a teacher shared, “I am standing in this stage because of the lesson I have learnt by being a blind follower. Being a blind follower I was gifted with 24 cases in my name where as the leader got coronated with one of the good posts in the Government”. Like the hardest of hits make the greatest of sculpture, so is the moulding of my political career, denotes the MLA.
The talks and interviews given by the MLA has several lessons for the youth of the country. Teaching for my living and politics for service is a bigger step which any representative could take for a corruption free governance. Amazingly the representative has also been speaking about the people-friendly governance.
He says, “Like the campaigning which is done on every election, a representative should go to each houses every day. I will visit people, villages and houses on daily basis as people standing it front of my office will have to struggle a lot due to time strain.”
The Aam Aadmi Government in Delhi had come up with the unique developmental plans. For the first time if some one asked the people “what you want”, told one of my lecturers recalling his student life in Delhi and the Aam aadmi election campaign.
Pradeep Eshwar, an MLA from Chikballapura constituency with his words of affirmation is giving an image of a model leader. He is also enhancing the idea of a people on what a representative can and should do. Let us hope that, his words do not just remain as an unquestionable election Manifesto which is unheard and unseen. But paves way for youth to get more attracted towards the optimistic politics and help in bringing out a better governance.
